
About the Course
Digital literacy is a prerequisite to make an organization successful. Top and mid-level employees are the core workforces to materialize the vision of an organization. However, these workforces lack required computing skills. The mission of our ICT professional course is to enhance their computing skills so that they can contribute with their maximum potential.
As part of the Digital Bangladesh program and Computer Literacy among the people of Bangladesh, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka (CSEDU) is currently running a few professional courses. This professional course program comprises of courses that are either essential for IT literacy or very much demanding for the current IT education. List of currently offered courses include:
- Android Mobile Application Development
- Web Application Development
- Database Management and Administration
- Fundamentals of Object Oriented Programming using Java
The above professional courses are offered to graduates as well as individuals pursuing an undergraduate degree or completed HSC. The classes are held on Sunday to Saturday from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM, generally. In weekends (Friday and Saturday), classes may be scheduled at other times. There are 72 hours of lectures for each of the courses with a course duration of 3 months. The course fees range from 20000/- BDT to 25000/- BDT depending on the courses. ICTPC-304: Fundamentals of Object Oriented Programming using Java
The fundamentals of object oriented programming in java, offered from Department of Computer Science and Engineering under ICT professional course, is an essential course for all professionals and graduates who want to have a strong foundation and expertise in the industry. Eligibility for Admission
The ICT professional course will be offered to the graduates or individuals pursuing an undergraduate degree or completed HSC. Seats will be filled up on the first come first serve basis.
Admission procedure
To complete admission one has to complete the steps below.
First step,
- You have to apply here.
- Fill up the form with necessary information within the deadline
- You will get the confirmation email within 48 hours
Second step,
- After getting the confirmation email, bring original mark sheet and/or certificate of SSC and HSC to CSE, DU office. Office time: 10am-4pm [Saturday to Thursday]
- Bring a copy of mark sheets, certificates, NID/passport/birth certificate.
- After verification of the documents, office staff will print and take your sign on the admission form.
- Pay the application fee (TK 500 (Five Hundred Taka Only) ) and full tuition fees.
- Get the slip (with seal and id) of your payment from the office staff.

1) What makes ICT professional course better than other schools?
* Our instructors are the faculty members of the University of Dhaka or the graduate experts with industry experience in the concern courses. They are utilizing the techniques and methods they have learned and bringing it here to help you reach industry standards.
* It offers you better service with multiple class schedule per week and hands-on training.
2) Academic Calendar & Program Structure

3) Is prior knowledge important for this program?
Prior knowledge is not mandatory for this program, but some basics will be helpful, please see the course syllabus for the prerequisite details. Moreover, during the program, instructors will guide you to get the basics before the main topics.
4) What is the typical weekly schedule for a student?
During a Session, there are 2 days of regular classes of 3 hours in a week.
The class will be divided into the Lecture sessions and the Q&A session. The Q&A session will be the best time for you to clarify any problem you are facing with an assignment or did not understand a certain part of any lecture and need to revisit the chapter again.
5) How much time should I plan to spend on my coursework?
Weekly you will have 6 hours of classes. On top of that, another 3-4 hours of focused work and practice is highly recommended.
6) Who are the instructors and what is their background?
Our instructors are the faculty members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Dhaka and the graduates with industry experience who have been selected for their technical ability and teaching skills. You can learn more about them in the brochure or website.
7) Do I need to bring my own laptop to the class?
No. Classrooms at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Dhaka has desktop computers just for each of you to learn on. However, It will be your choice to bring Laptop for a class purpose if you wish. Sometimes it is better to work on your own workstation. But to participate in the class, all you will need is yourself and a pen and a notebook to take notes.
ADMISSIONS
1) What are the admission requirements?
The ICT professional course certificate will be offered to the graduates and the individuals pursuing an undergraduate degree or completed HSC.
2) Do I need to have experience or good basic skills to be successful in the course?
No. Some basics will be helpful, but not necessarily needed. Instructors will guide you throughout the courses to get the best it.
ACADEMIC POLICIES
1) What will the ICT professional course teach?
It will teach multidimensional courses based on your interest. These courses are designed structurally to guide you a better understanding to face the technological challenges in your educational and professional career.
2) What is the proper etiquette expected from a participant when attending any course at the ICT professional course?
ICT professional course is a place for mutual respect where we gather to learn from each other. We firmly discourage negative comments. You are here to learn and your instructors are here to guide you prepare for the ICT challenges in your career. Please be respectful and don’t talk over your instructor during a lecture session.
Attend Q&A sessions with care and make the best of your available time. Remember, you will get as much out of your education as you put into it.
3) What constitutes a passing grade?
According to the grading policy, at least 60% (Sixty Percentage) attendance and 40% (Forty Percentage) marks are required to get this certificate course. Details about grading will be discussed in class by your instructors.
4) What is your refund policy?
You will be refunded the full tuition fees if the course is not started. For further information, you are advised to consult physically with the office if you have any question.
5) What is your policy to change courses?
You are not allowed to change course after the admission deadline. For further information, you are advised to consult physically with the office if you have any question.
FINANCING
1) Can I pay some of my tuition fees now and some later?
No. Unfortunately, we are currently following one-time payment plan.
2) How can I make my tuition payment?
All payment will be made in cash. You should get deposit slip (with seal) from the department office after payment.
3) Do I have to pay for my classes all at once? Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Currently, we don’t offer any other payment plan. For more info, please contact the department.
4) How much does the course cost?
Application fee Taka 500.00 (Taka Five Hundred Only) and full tuition fees Taka 20000.00 (Taka Twenty Thousand Only) to Taka 25000.00 (Taka Twenty Five Thousand Only) based on the courses of 3 (Three) month duration.
